1) Do you want to tell us something about yourself and your art?
Hello I am Wolfj45, yeah, I know, not the most creative name out there, but I’m too lazy to change it. I am an American Mexican Artist. As for my art, you probably know me as the artist who does a lot of Touhou tickle Art, since that’s what I mostly do, so yeah I mostly do whatever I like, or do whatever catches my interest, since I’m a geek.
Leggi tutto: Tickle Artists #119: Interview with Wolfj452) What techniques do you use to draw? Do you have a favorite artist that inspires you?
I started off with a pencil, paper and a few markers. The typical starter pack for any artist. Then later on, I started to do digital art as a new step for my artistic journey, if you wanna know which app I started on? It has to be the Sketchbook app, the reason behind this is because it was free, rather than Procreate . I was a little bit hesitant of getting Procreate because it cost money, and my inner Mr. Crabs was telling me to not do it, but I did it anyway. And I must say doing digital art is very convenient when it comes to certain things like coloring and copying ?
As for what artists have inspired me? Well, to be honest inspiration can come from anywhere if the artist catches my interest. Most of my inspirations come from danbooru. So here’s a list: jazz (fukukan), nehitsuji (syatihokoga), eddybird55555, and a lot more that I probably cannot remember or even find their name. But the one art style that really inspire me has to be the artist behind, (touhou memories of phantasm) it’s just the way the artist draws the characters so beautifully, I try my best to imitate their style, but not much of a semblance, but I always try new styles, and new things to play around with.
3) How much was the passion for drawing born in you? And the one for the tickle?
Ever since I was little to be honest, at first, I wanted to do my own cartoon, then in middle school. I just wanted to do a little characters of my OCs, afterwards in high school I started to make little comics about my characters, then I took a few painting classes and all that stuff, and at the moment, I’m right here doing whatever I want until I lose my insanity and go to the asylum.
4) What are the tickling scenarios that you prefer to draw?
Will I mostly do female tickles since that’s what I’m most comfortable with, where we have a female Lee and a male ler. I do like M/F tickles a lot, but at the same time I also like to do F/F tickles since it has a certain appeal to it that I’m not smart enough to really explain what I mean. I like both to be honest. And I know that a lot of people don’t really like male lers a lot, and mostly prefer female lers tickling female lees . If I remember right, it’s called the “ no boyfriend Appel “ or “ yuri Appel ”. But hey, at the end of the day you do what you want, and you like what you like.
As for scenarios, I guess I’m not really a big fan of torture tickles, but I can understand the appeal to it, the power that a ler has over a lee, and the helplessness of a lee at the mercy of a ler . I guess you could say most of the time I do willing lees, where most of the scenarios are lers just tickling lees, but I will say this I do enjoy doing tickle bondage for most of my art, and playful tickles like, feet on lap, a ticklish massage, wake up tickles, two couples having fun with each other, or even surprise tickles are cute.
But you can say I’m most notorious for you know the “ Tickle FJ “ or “tickle footjobs “ . It’s something about them that is so something that I cannot describe them with simple words of text, because scenarios like these can go either way. Where the ler tickles the feet of the lee, and every constant movement of her feet struggling against the tickles will lead to accidentally stroking the ler. Or even when the lee can have full control of the situation even when the lee is on the receiving end, by teasing and stroking the ler, while the ler struggles to focus on tickling the lee during the whole situation. Or when there’s even a third party to the whole scenario, where the ler tickles the feet of the lee, and the male male victim tries his best, not to give in .
5) What are the aspects of tickling that you intend to represent with your art? Example: the laughing, the wriggling, the relationship between tickler and ticklee?
Well to be completely honest I’m not sure myself, but if I have to tear apart and analyzed my own piece of work, it has to be the reactions of the characters, either be a ler enjoying what their doing, getting turned on, having a sadistic face, or having no reaction to the scenario. Or even the lee reactions to being tickled, either be enjoying it, struggling not to laugh, or straight out, hating it. Moments like these give the characters personality I guess .
6) Online there are countless photos and videos of tickling sessions. In your opinion, what do illustrations offer more than images of real life?
Limitations, even though real life has an appeal to it since it’s real people, even though some are stage or fake. I guess you can say the same thing about illustration about not being real either. But there’s a reason why people say the pencil is mightier than the sword. Because the pencil has no limitations, well, you can simply just do and draw whatever you want, either drawing lots of lees, drawing your favorite character or celebrity in a certain scenario that you know very well that never gonna happen in real life, and making scenarios that real life cannot copy because of limitations like, tickle monsters, demons, tickle hell, laboratory, plants and etc., etc. all those tickle tropes that you see online.
7) In your opinion, what makes tickling so interesting for fans of this phenomenon?
Can’t say for sure, some people say it is kinky, some people say it’s a playful activity, some people do it for the thrill. And some even do it because of the rush of power over somebody. So I cannot really give an answer that will be authentic for everybody , since I don’t even know what I want myself when it comes to this certain tickling phenomenon that everybody in the community loves. So I apologize for the lack of answer for this question.
8) What are your works of which you are most proud?
Well to be honest, I’m not sure. Because every time I finish a piece of work afterwards, I feel like I could have done something better. Either be the anatomy, drawing the texture of the characters. Or even the biggest struggle angles, I always feel like I could have done better. But if I have to say which ones, I guess the “ nurse joy and T jr” or “ Byakuren and miko tease “ or even “ lee booth “ are the ones that I feel like I did good
9) Do you have any particular artistic goals for the future?
Well, to hopefully do commissions and make this into a side hustle, and also make and evolve my art style into a more anime like art style, since I do feel like I can improve in my art when it comes to these types of stuff you know.
10) Do you think AIs will end up enriching or impoverishing the art of tickling representations?
This is a double edge sword, so I have to be very careful what I say. And please forgive me if I don’t explain it. In words that makes sense.
I do believe AI can be used as a source of reference for artists to use, either by coming up with ideas, picking the right colors for values, or even angles and positions. Because sometimes I use AI as a sandbox to give me ideas, mess around with it, and try my best to mimic the art style that the robot gaves me.
But at the same time, I can really see how AI can really be a problem when it comes to the art community, since most users of AI are not artists themselves and use it because it’s very convenient, and sometimes free. Now I don’t respect people who claim they are AI artists when they’re not the ones making the art, instead they are letting AI do all the work. Like sure buddy, your true artist when you’re texting in a keypad with no true skill and effort of your art piece “ if you’re wondering, I’m being sarcastic”
So yeah, it’s a double edge sword, and a tool that is really hard to defend when there’s a lot of lazy eggs using it. Like I said before, artists can use it as a tool to help them improve their art more. On the other hand, non-artist will see it as a more convenient tool to use, and not see the value of real artists who put a lot of effort on their work. Basically it’s junk food, it’s fast and convenient .
