Aubrey Plaza is an American actress best known for playing the role of April Ludgate on the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation from 2009 to 2015.
Plaza landed the role of April, a sarcastic and apathetic college intern in the Parks Department, after meeting with the show’s creators Greg Daniels and Michael Schur. During the meeting, Plaza pitched the idea of making April a smart but disinterested intern, which they liked and incorporated into the character.
April started out as a terrible intern who didn’t care about her job, but over the course of the show she proved herself to be talented and passionate, especially about animals. Her relationship with Andy Dwyer (Chris Pratt) also showed her softer side.
In Parks and Recreation, season 3, Plaza’s character is briefly tickled on her foot by Chris Pratt’s character.
She has a seemingly realistic tickling reaction, trying to retract her feet when touched.
