1) Do you want to tell us something about yourself and your art?
Hello, I’m NeroFerret. There really isn’t much to say about me lol. I am a simple student, and since my life is not very exciting I find that drawing and imagining stories and characters are the only things that help me overcome existential boredom. Tickling is one of the many implications of this artistic streak of mine.
2) What techniques do you use to draw? Do you have a favorite artist that inspires you?
I use a mixed technique. I always use traditional techniques, but as regards the finished works I transpose them digitally through photos and scanners, which I am trying to study and improve on my own.
The artists that inspire me are way too many to name them all lol. But I think my favorites on the web are certainly Dave Alvarez, Kusujinn and Pawfeather.
The compatriot artists I admire most are definitely Everydaycomix and Kalamos.
3) How much was the passion for drawing born in you? And the one for the tickle?
I believe they are both genetic. Since I was a child I loved comics and artwork at school.
Then I was particularly attracted to animated films. I spent a lot of time watching Disney classics, Looney Tunes and old anime series. I think it was them who made me decide that I would try to create these works too.
Tickling is more complicated. I believe that TV certainly had great importance, the tickling scenes in the series I mentioned were fundamental (I felt embarrassed and excited when I saw them).
But it all started because basically my feet were an attractive part of me since I was a child. Like breasts and butt they remained well hidden except in the only period in which bare feet were clearly visible, the summer on the beach. The fact that the tickling was so effective on the feet was additional.
4) What are the tickling scenarios that you prefer to draw?
I think I love all the more extravagant scenarios. As for the rest, I’m still intent on experimenting with how far my imagination can go
5) What are the aspects of tickling that you intend to represent with your art? Example: the laughing, the wriggling, the relationship between tickler and ticklee?
Expression and feeling are definitely the things I pay the most attention to when I want to represent a tickling scene. Whether it’s the sadism of the tickler or the desperate situation of the ticklee through facial expressions and dynamism. For the rest I also try to be convincing in the anatomical representation, so that the viewer can better identify with it.
6) Online there are countless photos and videos of tickling sessions. In your opinion, what do illustrations offer more than images of real scenes?
I don’t think there is a single answer. Certainly, art generally represents paradoxical tickling situations that cannot be achieved in reality (this is also fun and relaxing for those who see it. Not necessarily linked to the sexual sphere).
Clearly it is understandable that there are people who prefer only real models. After all, it’s like someone who prefers meat or fish, everyone has their own tastes. Not to mention that without the models and videos online it would be very difficult for me to find the right inspiration lol
7) In your opinion, what makes tickling so interesting for fans of this phenomenon?
Here too the answer is very different and I think we could certainly find some common points. But everyone has their own personal relationship with this interest.
8) What are your works of which you are most proud?
Very difficult to say. I admit that I am a chronic perfectionist and am perpetually dissatisfied with my results. In fact I’m still looking for my true spark in drawing.
However I am quite fond of my drawing with the famous April O’Neil for the perspective and color and the Easter artwork with Mirko and Carrot. Despite the obvious flaws it was fun to draw (also because it was inspired by my pet rabbit lol)
9) Do you have any particular artistic goals for the future?
I would like to try to grow more and more as an artist, improve my techniques and my work even more.
Finding a definitive style here and building my own identity like the artists I admire. And with a little luck and sacrifices I hope to work in the comics or cartoons industry one day.
10) Do you think AIs will end up enriching or impoverishing the art of tickling representations?
I’m not very knowledgeable on the subject, I admit. So far, AI in the arts has given me a negative impression. Considering that many artists put in their soul, sweat and time to learn the techniques themselves, it is quite irritating to think that an algorithm will appropriate them to create an artwork in a few seconds. But it is certainly the use we make of them that is wrong, perhaps in the future they could be of help.
