TickleScenes as the months have gone by, has been exploring the phenomenon of tickling in mainstream products and offering promotional space to artists and creators who have made tickle enhancement their passion.

As we surpassed the ambitious goal of more than 100 tickle artists interviewed, we decided to celebrate the most relevant fictional characters featured in memorable tickle scenes.

On this page you will find a list of as many as 20 characters (heroes, heroines, villains, villainesses) who have entered the collective imagination of tickle enthusiasts.
This is a personal ranking that takes into account individual preferences but also notoriety and the number of tickle scenes in which they have been featured.

At the bottom of the page you will find the form to vote for one or two of your favorite characters. The characters who reach the most votes will be featured in an original fan story set in the TickleScenes tickle universe: the Grinnerverse!

20. Bubble Girl (My Hero Academia)

The scene takes place in a setting where Bubble Girl, a side character, is subjected to tickling by Nighteye, her superior. This moment is intended to be humorous, showcasing Nighteye’s quirky approach to eliciting laughter and smiles, which aligns with his character’s philosophy.

As she is tickled, Bubble Girl bursts into laughter. Her reactions are exaggerated for comedic effect; she squirms and giggles uncontrollably, reflecting her vulnerability in this humorous predicament. The laughter is portrayed as genuine and light-hearted, emphasizing the comedic tone of the scene.

 19. Agent Z (Wacky Races)

In the Wacky Races episode featuring Agent Z, there is a memorable tickling scene that parodies classic torture The scene takes place in a villainous lair, where Agent Z is bound and at the mercy of Dr. Doomsdoctor and his henchmen.

Instead of lasers or other dangerous tools, Dr. Doomsdoctor opts for a feather as his weapon of choice. 

As the feather glides across Agent Z’s sides and underarms, she bursts into uncontrollable laughter. Her exaggerated reactions are typical of cartoon humor—she squirms and flails, desperately trying to escape the tickling sensation while pleading for it to stop.

The exchange during this scene includes playful banter, with Dr. Doomsdoctor taunting Agent Z by saying, “Do you expect I’ll talk? No, Agent Z. I expect you’ll giggle!” This line adds to the humor, emphasizing the absurdity of using tickling as a form of interrogation.

 18. Kylie Griffin (Extreme Ghostbusters)

In the Extreme Ghostbusters episode featuring Kylie Griffin, there is a notable tickling scene involving the character Killjoy, a ghostly antagonist. This scene is characterized by its humorous and exaggerated portrayal of tickling, typical of the show’s comedic style.

Killjoy targets with tentacles her most sensitive areas. As Killjoy begins to tickle her sides and underarms, Kylie bursts into laughter.

17 Rogue (X-Men)

When tickled, Rogue typically displays a mix of surprise and laughter, often trying to maintain his composure but ultimately succumbing to the playful nature of the situation. The portrayal of Rogue in these situations can be quite humorous, with his character being caught off guard and reacting dramatically.

 16. Starfire (Teen Titans)

In some episodes, Starfire uses tickling as a way to express affection or cheer someone up. For example, if Robin is feeling down or stressed, she might surprise him with a tickle attack to lighten the mood. This approach not only showcases her character’s nurturing side but also highlights the innocence inherent in her personality.

15 Jane Porter (Tarzan)

Tarzan, having just met Jane, engages in a playful tickling session. 14 Harley Quinn

Harley Quinn, especially in modern comic books, has been depicted in some situations as ticklishly sensitive, by her own admission. She has also been featured in episodes of tickling Poison Ivy, the Joker, and Nightwing.

13 Husky (Dragon Ball)

In episode 45 of “Dragon Ball”, there is a notable tickling scene involving Goku and Husky.

Goku tickles Husky under her arms, causing her to react involuntarily. This tickling maneuver has a specific purpose – to make Husky’s arms twitch, resulting in the dragon balls she is holding to fall from her grasp1.

This scene demonstrates Goku’s quick thinking and resourcefulness, using an unconventional tactic to retrieve the dragon balls. The tickling serves as both a comedic element and a plot device, showcasing Goku’s ability to find creative solutions in challenging situations.

12. Lucy Heartfilia (Fairy Tail)

Lucy Heartfilia, a prominent character from the anime and manga series Fairy Tail, has been depicted in various tickling scenes that highlight her playful and vulnerable side. These scenes often blend humor with a sense of light-hearted torture, showcasing her reactions to being tickled by friends or foes.

In the Fairy Tail anime, Lucy experiences tickling in several episodes. One notable instance occurs when she is playfully tickled on her stomach, eliciting laughter that adds to the comedic elements of the series.

In lighter moments, such as when Happy tries to wake Lucy by tickling her, Lucy’s reaction is more playful than desperate. She may laugh and swat at Happy in a friendly manner, illustrating their close bond and the playful nature of their friendship.

In another scene, Virgo surprises Lucy with an unexpected tickle attack, leading to frantic laughter as Lucy tries to regain control.

11 Zourbon (Dragon Quest)

In the “Dragon Quest” series, there is a notable tickling scene involving the character Zourbon. This scene occurs when Dai, the protagonist, captures Zourbon to extract information. To compel her to cooperate, Dai employs a rather unconventional method: he summons Derupa, a giant anteater-like creature.

Derupa uses its long tongue to lick Zourbon’s feet, resulting in intense tickling sensations. This method is both humorous and effective, as it exploits Zourbon’s vulnerability. Despite her resistance, the tickling proves too much for Zourbon, leading her to eventually divulge the information Dai seeks. This scene exemplifies a blend of comedy and action typical of the “Dragon Quest” narrative style.

10 Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece)

Nico Robin’s tickling usually involves her using her Devil Fruit powers to sprout additional hands from different angles, allowing her to catch Luffy off guard, and tickle him and Chopper. This adds a layer of humor as Luffy’s exaggerated reactions—laughter and squirming—highlight his vulnerability in a playful context.

9 Freeze (Corrector Yui)

Freeze is one of Grosser’s henchmen, the Corruptors.

In episode 8 Rescue, after imprisoning her, activates a machine consisting of a smiling face and a series of tiny hands. The mechanism exclaims “Tickle, Tickle!” and approaches menacingly toward a frightened Freeze.

After a few seconds, hands begin tickling her sides and under her arms. Freeze cries out and, after swearing revenge against Rescue, succumbs to the tickle and begins laughing wildly as the monitors show her laughing to tears.

8 Bluto (Popeye)

Bluto proves to be ticklish when, at the end of a confrontation with Popeye, he ends up immobilized in a hyena’s cage. When the animal starts laughing, so does the man, due to Popeye tickling him with a finger on his bare foot. Olivia was able to get her revenge!

 7. Agent Heather (Gadget Boy & Heather)

Agent Heather from Gadget Boy & Heather experiences memorable tickling scenes that blend humor and light-hearted torture. In particular, one episode titled “The Long and Winding Wall” features a notable instance where Heather is subjected to what is described as the “torture of a thousand tickles.” This scenario highlights her reactions and the comedic aspects of the situation.

As the feather glides under her feet, Heather bursts into laughter, unable to contain herself. Her laughter is portrayed as loud and infectious, highlighting her vulnerability in this comedic predicament.

6 Vernon Fenwick (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles)

In this series, tickling is often portrayed as a form of playful torture. For example, in one episode titled “The Hot Case Kimono,” Vernon is foot-tickled by the villain Don Turtelli using a feather. His frantic laughter and attempts to squirm away create a humorous contrast to the seriousness of the situation.

In another episode, Vernon and Burne Thompson find themselves tickled by a different version of Don Turtelli, by Elvis Presley-like mobster and by aliens.

5 Inspector Zenigata

Inspector Zenigata, a recurring character in the Lupin III series, is often subjected to humorous tickling scenes that highlight his interactions with Lupin and the absurdity of their cat-and-mouse dynamic. 

In one memorable scene, Zenigata is ensnared in a trap set by Lupin. To distract him and prevent him from escaping, Lupin uses mechanical arms that tickle Zenigata under his armpits. This tactic causes Zenigata to laugh uncontrollably, ultimately leading him to lose his grip and fall, showcasing the comedic elements typical of the series.

In another instance, Zenigata is forced to cling to a large balloon inflated with his own breath. Lupin takes advantage of this precarious position by tickling Zenigata, further intensifying the humor as the inspector struggles to maintain his hold while laughing.

4 Son Goku (Dragon Ball Z)

In the Dragon Ball Z episode 196, there is a humorous scene where Son Goku is tickled by a Caterpy. Caterpy uses its body to tickle Goku, particularly focusing on sensitive areas like his sides and underarms. Goku’s exaggerated laughter and surprise reactions contribute to the humor of the moment. Goku’s response is animated and lively, showcasing his childlike innocence and ability to find joy in unexpected situations. His laughter adds to the comedic effect, making it a memorable scene for fans.

 3. Olive Oyl (Popeye)

Olive Oyl, a prominent character from the “Popeye” series, is often depicted in various tickling scenes that highlight her vulnerability and comedic interactions with other characters. The tickling scenes often rely on physical comedy, where Olive’s exaggerated reactions—such as uncontrollable laughter and squirming—are central to the humor. Her character is portrayed as extremely ticklish, which amplifies the comedic impact of these situations.

One of the most memorable scenes occurs when Bluto tickles Olive Oyl. This scene is characterized by Bluto’s playful yet aggressive nature, as he chooses to tickle her rather than rescue her from danger, showcasing his foot fetish tendencies6. The interaction often leads to Olive’s exaggerated laughter, enhancing the comedic effect typical of the series. In another scene, Olive is subjected to tickling by a ghost accompanied by cats. This scene adds a supernatural element to the humor, as Olive’s reactions blend fear and laughter

 2. Fujiko Mine (Lupin The Third)

Fujiko Mine, a prominent character from the Lupin III series, is featured in various tickling scenes that have garnered attention within the anime community.

In the classic series episode “Is Lupin Still Burning?” and its OAV remake, Fujiko is subjected to tickling torture by the sadistic Mr. X. He has her tied to a table from which a myriad of mechanical little hands come out and start tickling every part of her body.

In the original scene, Fujiko produces a series of moans and has a distressed expression as her tight-fitting jumpsuit opens up showing her huge breasts. In the remake, Fujiko shows more typical tickling reactions, laughing thunderously and flailing around in an attempt to escape the ordeal, not even being able to speak because of the prolonged tickling. In this version, Mr. X also makes use of a series of artificial mouths that perform even more merciless tickling, driving the woman to despair.

It is one of the most celebrated tickling scenes in cartoons, which combined with Fujiko MIne’s sexy subtexts and sensuality make it memorable even decades later.

 1. April O’Neil (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles)

April O’Neil’s tickling scenes with Don Turtelli are notable for their blend of humor and tension, particularly in the context of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. These scenes often feature April in precarious situations where her ticklishness is exploited for comedic effect.

One of the most iconic moments occurs in the episode “The Case of the Hot Kimono,” where Don Turtelli interrogates April. This scene has become a classic within the fandom due to its playful yet intense atmosphere, where Turtelli uses tickling as a method to extract information from her about a hidden Kimono. The combination of April’s reactions and Turtelli’s relentless teasing creates a memorable dynamic that resonates with viewers.

April’s interactions with Don Turtelli have inspired various fan creations, including artwork and videos that expand on these tickling themes. The scenes have achieved a sort of cult status within the tickling community, celebrated for their playful absurdity and character dynamics.
