Tickle Artists #123: Interview with Leo Artis

1) Do you want to tell us something about yourself and your art?

Hi, I’m Leo Artis. I started small. I drew regular art with characters. Gradually, I developed a great interest in furry themes, and then I began to draw furry characters. Mostly it’s fan art, but I also have my own characters.

2) What techniques do you use to draw? Do you have a favorite artist that inspires you?

Sometimes I combine traditional art and digital art, sometimes I do everything only in digital. I was inspired to draw tickling by the art of FootPaws and the dlpeattie gallery.

3) How much was the passion for drawing born in you? And the one for the tickle?

At first, I didn’t draw art on this topic for a long time, but then I really wanted to make fan art on this topic. From that moment on, I began to draw tickling.

4) What are the tickling scenarios that you prefer to draw?

I like to draw tickling between males.

5) What are the aspects of tickling that you intend to represent with your art? Example: the laughing, the wriggling, the relationship between tickler and ticklee?

The most interesting thing is to depict the process, the chemistry between the characters, different ways of tickling and the enjoyment of the process from both sides.

6) Online there are countless photos and videos of tickling sessions. In your opinion, what do illustrations offer more than images of real life?

I think real-life videos and art are good in their own way.

7) In your opinion, what makes tickling so interesting for fans of this phenomenon?

I don’t know what makes tickling interesting for people. I think everyone can see something of their own in this (within reasonable limits).

8) What are your works of which you are most proud?

I like all my art related to this. I can’t single out my favorite. Each art is good in its own way.

9) Do you have any particular artistic goals for the future?

Perhaps I did not think about the goals. I draw what brings me pleasure and what brings pleasure to others. The default goal is to improve my drawing skills.

10) Do you think AIs will end up enriching or impoverishing the art of tickling representations?

No matter how anyone feels about AI, but now it is a part of our lives. I think that AI is a good tool when used correctly that can complement the tickling theme too.
