1) Do you want to tell us something about yourself and your art?

Hello. I’m Jimbobadob.

I’m a delivery driver/mumble merchant who sometimes likes to draw tickle fetish content in my spare time. Preferably of the cartoon variety as that’s simpler to draw and easier for my brain to appreciate.

The username stems from my old TickleTheater (R.I.P) account because I thought it sounded funny to say. I’m one of the most uninteresting humans imaginable though outside of those things.

2) What techniques do you use to draw? Do you have a favorite artist that inspires you?

I primarily draw digitally using a small wacom tablet, it’s my old baby. Recently I had to replace it due to overuse and abuse, my scratchy and rough drawing technique made it cry. I bought a near identical one because I was too comfortable with drawing on it.

I prefer digital because I find it’s exceptionally easier to correct mistakes and dress up otherwise unremarkable drawings with all kinds of silly flashy effects and dialogue. It’s also much easier to hide from prying eyes on a computer than in a sketchbook.

Sometimes I like to draw ideas and notes traditionally but usually it’s just to scribble out insane concepts that could make it to digital one day.

Favorite artists? On the fetish front there are several.

Bebob4999: I’ve always enjoyed the toony way he draws characters and his setups for pieces are always top notch. Detail in spades, always thinking about the smallest of things to give his drawings that extra bit of spice.

Repulsionswitch(R.I.P): He had such a cute drawing style with some adorable characters, I still miss his works. He seemed like a gentle soul too.

Bound-Bandit: His output is insane and he delivers some really creative bondage positions in his work.

3) How much was the passion for drawing born in you? And the one for the tickle?

I wasn’t born with the power or enthusiasm to draw sadly. I only picked up drawing at 27 years old because I didn’t want to regret not starting and I always admired how artists on DeviantArt would simply draw out their tickle fetish desires shamelessly. So I gave it a go myself.

As for being into tickling, that was ingrained into me at an early age like most. You know the story. Saturday morning cartoons and anime scenes really did stir latent desires that would go onto shape my kinks. April’ O Neil and Polly Esther I’m looking at you!

4) What are the tickling scenarios that you prefer to draw?

Fantasy, nonsensical and downright silly situations are the most fun. Tickle monsters, ridiculous bondage contraptions and cartoony concepts bring out the best in me. The medium of art isn’t bound to the limitations of the real world so why not play to it’s strengths and go ham with it!

If it isn’t obvious I do have a particular liking to feet (like a lot of tickle fetishists I’ve found) so any setup that takes advantage of them being bare and bound is a bonus ~

I’m always frustrated with my lack of ability to convey these ideas though so it’s a constant struggle to try and improve. Even if it’s at a snail’s pace.

5) What are the aspects of tickling that you intend to represent with your art? Example: the laughing, the wriggling, the relationship between tickler and ticklee?

I’m really fond of the character, expression and energy you can convey in tickling art. Unless you are a whiz at animation I think it’s important to try and create a perfect snapshot with these in mind.

Whether that be an intense laughing expression, a contorted pose, some wriggling toes, sly mocking ‘lers or desperate speech bubbles, it all helps to make the picture in your mind as attractive/silly/ideal as possible.

6) Online there are countless photos and videos of tickling sessions. In your opinion, what do illustrations offer more than images of real scenes?

As said before I really enjoy the fantasy aspect that illustrations provide in comparison to photos and videos of real sessions. Absolutely insane situations that are impossible to carry out IRL are possible with art and I think that’s it’s main strength.

Also, it may be controversial but the topic of non-consensual tickling can only really be explored and fulfilled with the power of art, unless you are a psychopath. Concepts that may seem ‘darker’ and cruel to some can be extremely appealing to many that need to scratch that itch for something different, as long as they appreciate it as pure fantasy I believe that is fine. I myself think that tickling can go to some dark places but is often seen as a ‘light’ form of torture compared to many other mediums of kinks.

7) In your opinion, what makes tickling so interesting for fans of this phenomenon?

Because it’s quite versatile in how you want to use it. It can be soft and playful. It can be cruel and punishing, but not to the extent as some other kinks. It evokes laughter and happy faces but to some it’s their biggest nightmare. It can be used for bonding, meshing with other kinks or seen as harmless fun.

I believe that tickling being on the softer end of the BDSM scale lends to it’s appeal as well.

Tickling is the other side of the same coin to pain I like to think. It doesn’t cause the same type of suffering that pain does, which can be damaging and brutal at times, but rather a different kind of uncomfortable suffering that can get quite psychological if used well.

It also differs from person to person so that makes it exciting and variable all of the time!

8) What are your works of which you are most proud?

I try not to be proud of my works as ultimately I understand that whatever I make can be deemed as disposable trash to many that consume it.

But if I had to pick one I guess it would be my RPG MAKER game Trixie’s Bad Bot Day simply because I never actually thought I would finish making a game at all. It’s mere existence is an anomaly to this day made with the scrap hours I could cobble together during covid. I hope it inspired people to make things of their own.

9) Do you have any particular artistic goals for the future?

To be good enough to actually be proud of my art I guess.

This may sound a little jaded but making tickling works was an entry point for me to get me creating from an extremely low point in my life. As terrible as some of my pieces may be, they are the trash pile in which I climb to hopefully gain enough confidence to make things that are better and dare I say it, wholesome.

I won’t be making it forever but I do hope to inspire people who always thought of giving it I try. Even if you think you can’t draw at all like I believed of myself, I suggest you give it a shot!

10) Do you think AIs will end up enriching or impoverishing the art of tickling representations?

Both but mostly the latter unfortunately.

I think that AI has it’s place in improving and assisting in the creation of art with the more tedious aspects. It can also be a good source of inspiration with the mish-mash of ideas it can conjure into working pictures and settings.

But in reality I see DA and other sites being flooded with AI created ‘slop’ as they say, the sheer quantity of cookie cutter fetish trash spewed across the internet is disheartening. As if fetish art didn’t have a bad enough rep as it is.

Maybe things will change. Maybe they won’t. But the future is always uncertain.
