1) Do you want to tell us something about yourself and your art?
I’m Cindy Mides, ecchi artist from Brazil. I was always fascinated with the erotic size of drawings after discovering hentai, so I tought would be nice to explore and do drawings of this nature. Its been almost 8 years since I started on this career, exploring and improving my style drawing multiple fetishes.
Leggi tutto: Tickle Artists #81: Interview with Cindy Mides2) What techniques do you use to draw? Do you have a favorite artist that inspires you?
I use digital methods and tools to make my drawings. My process goes from the reference gathering to sketch the idea and then rendering the picture in one of the various styles I work with. As for inspirations, I really enjoy DarkerEve, Mystra77, Kairunoburogu, Blue-senpai, Bayeuxman and other ecchi/hentai artists.
3) How much was the passion for drawing born in you? And the one for the tickle?
Since my childhood. I was always surrounded with cartoons, animes and comics, so naturally I felt the need to pick up a pencil and doodle some ideas in random pieces of paper. When I was getting older, I realized that was the thing I’d love to work with, then started to develop a more professional way to deal with drawing, which included the exploration of the NSFW universe.
About tickle, that was something I wasn’t aware as a fetish before. When I opened my first requests and commissions, some clients appeared with ideas that involved tickling. Found it very intriguing, so I researched some art references of tickle to understand how it worked and how people enjoyed them to be visually represented. And it became something very natural to do these drawings, in great part by commissioners too who helped me explaining their ideas with descriptions, photos, references, etc. As today, I really enjoy to get some tickle drawing requests and always do my best to make good pictures in this theme.
4) What are the tickling scenarios that you prefer to draw?
Bondage scenarios of characters being restraint and tickled in their feet/armpits with multiple tools (feathers, hands, brushes, etc).
5) What are the aspects of tickling that you intend to represent with your art? Example: the laughing, the wriggling, the relationship between tickler and ticklee?
The main goal is to show the main character’s reaction in being tickled, so I intend to explore the face and body expressions to show how they behave. The laughs as onomatopoeia and wide open mouths helps me emphasize how they’re being affected by the tickles in the context they’re.
6) Online there are countless photos and videos of tickling sessions. In your opinion, what do illustrations offer more than images of real life?
I believe drawings have more freedom to explore the tickling scenarios. For example, you can easily put a character from a show you like being tickled by multiple disemboided hands, floating feathers and robotic flexible arms that don’t exist in real life. In fact you can find videos and photos of tickling sessions, but you can’t make a camera ‘phase’ through a person in some angles without covering something. That’s the magic that illustrations can give to any tickling scenario people have in their minds.
7) In your opinion, what makes tickling so interesting for fans of this phenomenon?
I think it is very intriguing to observe the dominance and curiosity relationship this phenomenon can trigger. A simple action from the tickler can awaken multiple reactions of the ticklee, which can convey feelings of control (or being controlled) by someone and see how far it can go in therms of pleasure or self enjoyment.
8) What are your works of which you are most proud?
These three in special, where I see a range of tickling scenarios explored and the improvement of my artwork style.
9) Do you have any particular artistic goals for the future?
I would like to be involved in bigger projects (like games, animations or comics) and get the deserved recognition from what I draw. Illustration is still my main plan of working and I want to get a comfortable way of life by doing it as my job.
10) Do you think AIs will end up enriching or impoverishing the art of tickling representations?
I believe it’ll be impoverished very hard. The artificial side of AI generated content sends me a message that this thing (text, image or video) was done without passion or real attention to people’s feelings. Is just literally artificial generation without substance, something disposable that won’t have any impact or exclusivity.
