1) Do you want to tell us something about yourself and your art?
There’s not much to say. I’m BravoJohnny69. I just draw belly buttons being tickled, it’s what God put me on here to do.
Leggi tutto: Tickle Artists #72: Interview with BravoJohnny692) What techniques do you use to draw? Do you have a favorite artist that inspires you?
I mostly just try to mimic the style of the source material of any character I draw, aside from that I use multiple layers for shading each with different opacity and filters to get the effect I like. As for artists that inspire me the big one is koochiekoochietoons who’s no longer active but was a phenomenal artist who had a unique and vibrant style and did wonders in creating something that could happen within the worlds of the characters that he would draw. Other artists who inspire me and I think hold up the fort for us belly button fans are Klaudsan, Nyankun21, Navellunatic, Bakasp, and BNN.
3) How much was the passion for drawing born in you? And the one for the tickle?
I’ve just always liked drawing and I’ve liked tickling for as long as I could remember so eventually I just thought, there’s a lack of navel tickling art, and a lack of certain characters being tickled in general, so I just took matters into my own hands.
4) What are the tickling scenarios that you prefer to draw?
Basically just anything where belly buttons get tickled, I also like making the scenario as close to what could happen in the source material as possible.
5) What are the aspects of tickling that you intend to represent with your art? Example: the laughing, the wriggling, the relationship between tickler and ticklee?
Pretty much the 3 things you said
6) Online there are countless photos and videos of tickling sessions. In your opinion, what do illustrations offer more than images of real life?
Pretty much the difference between live action and animation, with illustration you can depict more stuff like the use of tentacles and machines, depicting characters that would be hard for a studio to do, and what not. That said, I don’t think they’re comparable. It’s like finding Megan Fox attractive and finding Android 18 attractive.
7) In your opinion, what makes tickling so interesting for fans of this phenomenon?
It’s just a pleasurable thing for many people in a variety of ways.
8) What are your works of which you are most proud?
I don’t particularly rank my own works or have an affection for any of them over the other, I just rope them into as I create more, it’s better than the last batch. I guess if I had to pick, the works that perform the best and reach the most people are the ones.
9) Do you have any particular artistic goals for the future?
Just draw more characters who haven’t been drawn by people in the community or are not known in general. And update my older pieces.
10) Do you think AIs will end up enriching or impoverishing the art of tickling representations?
Ai just kinda sucks and the type of people who enjoy tickling art, even if they enjoy what ai makes, will still prefer real stuff since it, for lack of better terms, has heart put into it and appeals to them much more than ai which is pretty one note and still has ways to go before it’s easily accessible and decent (and even then things won’t change much).
