Tickle Artists #121: Interview with DivinitySoles

1) Do you want to tell us something about yourself and your art?

I’m DivinitySoles, I’m a digital artist and have been doing it since 2019 alongside my wife, Sinfullysoles (who taught me)! I mostly do foot fetish art that involves tickling, giantess, foot modeling, comics and simple animations. Divi the Angel is my mascot and love to “feeture” her in my drawings!

2) What techniques do you use to draw? Do you have a favorite artist that inspires you?

I start with a rough sketch that I base from several references followed by an ink pen tool (Typically 5-8 px) for lineart and then use a mix of Cel Shading with some soft brushes for the final render. I use Paint Tool Sai for the majority of my drawings, with the occasional finishing touches on PS.

3) How much was the passion for drawing born in you? And the one for the tickle? 

I enjoyed doodling as a kid, but never really pursued writing as it was and still my biggest passion. I always enjoy seeing tickling scenes, especially in cartoons.

4) What are the tickling scenarios that you prefer to draw? 

I like to draw ones that have the feet in plain view on a table and wrapped and being tickled by a feather with the subject laughing hysterically.

5) What are the aspects of tickling that you intend to represent with your art? Example: the laughing, the wriggling, the relationship between tickler and ticklee? 

I love the expression emitted from the subject as they are being tickled. To me the facial expressions are an important factor and give depth to how they are experiencing the tickle itself!

6) Online there are countless photos and videos of tickling sessions. In your opinion, what do illustrations offer more than images of real life? 

Perspective. Although, there are amazing tickling videos out there that has a good perspective. As an artist, I am able to fine-tune and create a scene that captivates the senses!

7) In your opinion, what makes tickling so interesting for fans of this phenomenon? 

Tickling can show a different side of a character that may seem more uptight or stiff and also showcases a high amount of energy that makes it interesting to look at.

8) What are your works of which you are most proud? 

This feetures my OC on a two panel comic that shows her laughing hysterically and gives a close view of her feet as the feathers graze upon her soles!

9) Do you have any particular artistic goals for the future? 

More tickling animations!

10) Do you think AIs will end up enriching or impoverishing the art of tickling representations?

This may be an unpopular opinion, however, AI is a tool that can be used to help digital artist such as myself find references of perspectives and then create the piece you envisioned. Personally, I still continue to use references from videos or photos. I have been doing commissions for about 6 years as of now, and our sales have increased even with AI becoming more prevalent.
