The Laughing Gas Zone

1) Do you want to tell us something about yourself and your art?

I’m Joe, the owner of The Laughing Gas Zone, a tickling video company I started with some friends in 1997.

2) What techniques do you use to draw? Do you have a favorite artist that inspires you?

I have done traditional drawing for fun and some commissions, but I’ve only started doing AI art this past summer. I’m very intrigued by new technology and wanted to see what these new AI engines could do.

3) How much was the passion for drawing born in you? And the one for the tickle?

I never had a passion for being an artist. I just kind of fell into it at various times. I found that I’m quite good at writing and have even won some competitions outside the fetish genre.

4) What are the tickling scenarios that you prefer to draw?

Right now, I’m creating AI movies. Some are live action and others are animation. The scenarios vary, but they usually revolve around damsels in distress…super-heroines…policewomen…scenarios like that.

5) What are the aspects of tickling that you intend to represent with your art? Example: the laughing, the wriggling, the relationship between tickler and ticklee?

Laughter is a big one. I realized, a long time ago, that I have a laughing fetish. I enjoy seeing women laughing helplessly, hence the tickling and laughing gas fetishes work so well together.

6) Online there are countless photos and videos of tickling sessions. In your opinion, what do illustrations offer more than images of real life?

Videos show you the event. I think art allows you to capture a single moment and laser focus in on that moment. It’s one reason people are drawn to paintings illustrations.

7) In your opinion, what makes tickling so interesting for fans of this phenomenon?

That’s difficult to say. I think some find the control or being controlled an enticing aspect.

8) What are your works of which you are most proud?

I don’t know if I have a single work I’ve done that I’m most proud of. Each piece is a learning experience and the work is its own reward. I do like the ones with high production values, set on location. Not many producers do that. It’s something I do consider a nice touch what is essentially a fetish video.

9) Do you have any particular artistic goals for the future?

Yes, my goal for this year is to make my first AI created full length tickling video. I’m currently working on it and when I’m satisfied with it, I’ll release it on my clip store. My goal is to see if people not only like it, but like it enough to buy it.

10) Do you think AIs will end up enriching or impoverishing the art of tickling representations?

I think that the only thing anyone can say for certain is that it will change it. But change it into what? That’s the question. I know there are a lot of artist’s that fear AI will replace them. Much the same way it may replace the videos I make with AI generated movies. I tend to look

at it differently. You can go kicking and screaming or you can embrace it and make it work for you. Adapt and move forward.
