Katy O’Brian is an American actress and martial artist, born on February 12, 1989, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She has gained recognition for her diverse roles in television and film, particularly within the action and sci-fi genres.

Katy O’Brian’s acting career took off after she moved to Los Angeles in 2016. Her first notable television role was as a Savior named Katy on AMC’s The Walking Dead. She subsequently appeared in series such as Halt and Catch Fire, How to Get Away with Murder, and landed a regular role as George in Syfy’s Z Nation (2018). Her portrayal of Major Sara Grey in Black Lightning (2019-2020) further established her presence in the superhero genre. O’Brian also had guest roles in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Westworld before securing a recurring role as Elia Kane in the acclaimed series The Mandalorian (2020-2023). More recently, she appeared as Jentorra in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023).

Katy O’ Brian tickled in “Love Lies Bleeding” (2024)

In the upcoming film Love Lies Bleeding, Katy O’Brian plays the character Jackie, an ambitious bodybuilder. The film, directed by Rose Glass and set in 1989, explores the passionate yet tumultuous relationship between Jackie and Lou, portrayed by Kristen Stewart. Their love story quickly spirals into violence and entangles them in a criminal underworld. The plot centers around Lou, a reclusive gym manager, who becomes romantically involved with Jackie while navigating her ties to a crime family. As Jackie prepares for a bodybuilding competition in Las Vegas, their relationship intensifies, leading to dark and violent outcomes.

In a scene, Lou (Kristen Stewart) licks Jackie’s toes. In a interview with Men’s Health, O’Brian affirms:

“I was like, ‘I can spray mint on my toe,’” she laughs. “I’m ticklish, so it was all I could do not to scream.”
