1) Do you want to tell us something about yourself and your art?

I’m Pocketickler. I have things to say about myself and my art but I don’t think it’s appropriate to mention here XD

2) What techniques do you use to draw? Do you have a favorite artist that inspires you?

I draw with Clip Studio paint but a lot of times, I can get sorta lost with how to proceed with a picture, how to pose a character, etc. I recently found that my old little process of drawing on sticky notes (traditional) helps me overcome these blocks and just makes me feel good. So I guess a blend of traditional when I can and just brute forcing digital until something looks good.

Favorite artist that inspires me… definitely G3. Their stuff was and always will be my favorite tickle content. Everything from their posing to their scenarios to the cuteness and variety of their girls’ expressions. Definitely one of my biggest inspirations. CAB, Caroo, Chehirecatny, Sp0relord, and Caranelle were also tickle artists who I could interact with a lot more regularly and who definitely helped me strive and succeed in improving the techniques I use. Currently Cicciolino09 has been a great help, inspiring me to follow a lot of my passion projects.

3) How was the passion for drawing born in you? And the one for the tickle?

My passion for drawing really stemmed from, at the time, a severe lack of the type of tickle content I wanted to see and an extreme cheapness given I didn’t have any money of my own to spend on other artists. The passion for tickle was born far earlier thanks to my large bosomed Aunt holding me down and tickling me when I was a kid whenever she visited.

4) What are the tickling scenarios that you prefer to draw?

Definitely tickle torture scenarios where the victim is pushed to their (usually sensual) limits and forced past it. This can be done by a seductive captor or by uncaring creatures-blissfully unaware at the ticklish hell they are causing.

5) What are the aspects of tickling that you intend to represent with your art? Example: the laughing, the wriggling, the relationship between tickler and ticklee?

Desperation is the main aspect I love to focus on. This mainly includes the wriggling/motion of the character, the laughter and the dialogue if present, but most importantly, then facial expressio. Other aspects I like to focus on are how the tickle spots are exposed for the tickler to access and how ticklish a spot can be.

6) Online there are countless photos and videos of tickling sessions. In your opinion, what do illustrations offer more than images of real life?

Freedom is the biggest factor separating illustrations from photos and videos. Illustrations offer up escapism into a place where anything is possible and there are no real world repercussions – you’re free to do what you want to a character for however long you like and make the character as attractive in every frame they’re drawn in as you possibly can/want. There are no limits like in real life stuff. Illustrations also let you more seamlessly transition the audience from official media to the tickle art of whatever character is in question- be it real world celebrity, anime girl, cartoon character, or furry. So much more freedom and delicious possibilities available with illustrations.

7) In your opinion, what makes tickling so interesting for fans of this phenomenon?

I’m not sure. It’s gotta be in part though the fact you can induce such a strong reaction in someone without hurting them (technically tickling is a form of pain but whatever). It’s such a benign thing that produces one of the stronger reactions a human (or animal) can have.

8) What are your works of which you are most proud?

Whatever is most recent usually. I’m for the most part always proudest of my most recent piece as once I evolve as an artist (which I’m constantly doing for better or worse), even pictures I was proud of once start to become flawed in my eyes. I suppose objectively, it would be the pieces I finished in ridiculously short periods of time that actually turned out good. These tend to be my holiday pics mostly lol

9) Do you have any particular artistic goals for the future?

I would like to learn how to do legit comics. It’s something I’ve wanted for a while. I would also really like to be able to increase my posing portfolio as well as finish my wishlist of characters I want to draw

10) Do you think AIs will end up enriching or impoverishing the art of tickling representations?

I’ve already seen some AI tickle stuff that made me say “wow”. It’s getting real good real fast. But will it enrich the art of tickling representation… I think just by definition I will say impoverish. Tickle art has always been relatively scarce or niche. For me it was always exciting to see my favorite group of artists’ next big tickle drop almost like it was an event. My friend group would gush over it when we thought it excelled. It was great. With AI, there’s gonna be oversaturation, if not from the amount of people trying it then from the sheer amount of fucking alts they upload lol. I really don’t fault AI users for taking advantage of the technology since Ultimately they’re doing what I did when I first started- scratching their own itch. But the divide between the tickle fanbase between AI and true art, plus the sheer volume of (relatively low quality) tickle content being pumped out by AI (and thus causing oversaturation) will definitely impoverish the art of tickling representation.
