Tickle Artists #105: Interview with FepiDrawings

1)Do you want to tell us something about yourself and your art?

Hi everyone, you can call me Fepi for short and I’m an artist, a drawer being more specific. My main focus is doing fetish art of tickling and feet but I’m also dedicated to non fetish drawings.

I also write sometimes and enjoy creating small worlds and concepts to amplify my creations.

2) What techniques do you use to draw? Do you have a favorite artist that inspires you?

I use the standard pencil + paper sheet combo to do most of the drawings and sketches. I previously used pens and markers to do inking and lineart, but more recently I chose to do that part digitally.

For the digital part I use a Small Wacom Intuos CTL4100 tablet with its corresponding pen and the Pain Tool Sai 2 software. For a few works I used Sketchbook for both PC and Android, but came back to Sai2.

3) How much was the passion for drawing born in you? And the one for the tickle?

As with many 2000’s kids, my early childhood was influenced by cartoon shows which inspired me to draw in order to create my own stories. I abandoned it during middle school but got back to try once again in highschool.

As for my tickling fetish, I could say it also started very early in my life. Until middle school when I discovered both the Internet and what is a fetish.

During high school both of my likes combined to create my DeviantArt account and the rest you can see on the Internet.

4) What are the tickling scenarios that you prefer to draw?

I don’t exactly have favorites. But I have a tendency towards either playful tickles or completely doomed and rough tickle scenarios.

5) What are the aspects of tickling that you intend to represent with your art? Example: the laughing, the wriggling, the relationship between tickler and ticklee?

There are three that I try to represent, it’s unknown to me if I got it but they are:

The mood or feeling of the situation; the laughs and the body contact.

6) Online there are countless photos and videos of tickling sessions. In your opinion, what do illustrations offer more than images of real life?

Definitely the reach it can offer. Is way easier to recreate any world, character and situations by drawing them than trying to do a 1:1 replicate in real life.

Do you want a cartoon/anime/video game character? You can do it and play with how fidelity to its source material you want it. Do you like crazy sci-fi/fantasy/dark/questionable settings? You can get them without compromising anybody.

7) In your opinion, what makes tickling so interesting for fans of this phenomenon?

The reactions and emotions for each person. Yeah you might want to tickle a friend, a coworker, etc. and at first it could be only for their appearance, but their reactions are what keeps you doing it.

You could want to hear their laughter, feel their twitches and squirmings, and try to reach them when they jump. Or in my case, also feel their skin and the textures of their clothes.

8) What are your works of which you are most proud?

Uff, tough question. I usually like those drawings that were challenging to make.

But some good candidates could be:

i) Star’s Miss-spell

ii) La Misión en Solitario de Teodora

iii) Is Dangerous to Go Deep Into the Woods

9) Do you have any particular artistic goals for the future?

Many, yeah, mostly towards increasing the quality of my artworks. I’m also interested in diving into the vast worlds of animation and 3D modeling.

10) Do you think AIs will end up enriching or impoverishing the art of tickling representations?

A mix of both. It won’t kill any artists directly, but those low effort drawings will and are being replaced with AI art.

The closest thing to how I imagine it could develop is the content creation in many social medias. Like TikTok, Reels and YT Shortz, where voice generated/reaction videos thrive between low demanding public. While more dedicated creators want to appeal at a specific public.

Those who want to use those tools to enhance their creations will benefit from it, and those who want the AI to do everything will also get their respective success.
